Strutt Cottage is an ideal location for couples or small families who want to experience a holiday in comfortable, cosy accommodation which is full of atmosphere. The cottage is in Belper, in the heart of the Derwent Valley World Heritage Site, on the edge of the beautiful Peak District. The cottage is charming with a boutique feel and many distinctive vintage touches. Strutt Cottage was originally built in the early 19th Century by the Strutts family and was a former mill workers and nailers cottage. The current family who run the cottage take pride in being custodians of this important local heritage.
Strutt Cottage forms part of a small working family estate which includes vineyards, orchards, ancient wildflower meadows, woodland pasture land and rural buildings and with prior arrangement with the owners it is possible to explore the vineyard or indeed book a wine and vineyard break!
There are many excellent eateries and pubs in Belper and if it’s a movie you fancy, in comfortable armchairs, then why not experience the Ritz Cinema in Belper with its unique style. Other superb places of interest are all nearby, Haddon Hall, the National Trust’s Hardwick Hall and of course the jewel of Derbyshire, Chatsworth.
