Can I travel with CBD oil to the United States?

It depends where you want to go. Many western countries have now legalized CBD oil, which shouldn’t be a problem. But for a full view, you can check here again to understand how each country considers CBD oil derived from hemp. It is advisable to consult the customs service on the transport of CBD oil before your trip to familiarize yourself with the actual interpretation of the law.

CBD in the U.S.: 1 country but many states

To know best about the cannabis and CBD regulations in the United States, you should understand the rules from state to state. To find out about the critical cannabis regulations, please click here.

Laws governing the use of CBD in the United States vary from state to state, even though the 2018 U.S. Farm Bill legalized hemp nationwide. Below is a brief overview of what it looks like in a real sense.

Can you fly with CBD oil from the U.K. to the U.S.?

CBD oil is legal in all parts of the United States, BUT it must contain less than 0.3% THC by dry weight. Well, since legal CBD oil in the U.K. contains less than 0.2% THC, you should be able to pass through the control with TSA agents (and their K-9) with your CBD oil without getting your pants wet. It is at least accurate most of the time. But there is a risk!

TSA screening is focused on airport security. However, TSA agents are also required to report suspicious activity, such as drug trafficking, to the state or federal authorities. If TSA agents discover illegal CBD oil (more than 0.3% THC) in your luggage, they will take the necessary measures to arrest you.

Remember that airport control is subject to federal regulations. Even in states like Colorado, where recreational cannabis is allowed, the federal limit of 0.3% THC still applies. Again, it’s critical to get your CDB from the right channels.

What about transiting flights?

It is where things get complicated because you can be stopped in transit by a country where CBD oil is illegal. Landing in a nation implies that you are under its jurisdiction and subject to the laws of that nation.

Tip: If you have stopovers on the way, find out in advance about the CBD laws in force in the country of the layover. If CBD is not legalized, don’t try to carry your CBD oil with you.

K-9 Drug Dogs Sniff CBD Oil?

K-9 dogs are trained to detect explosives, contraband and illicit drugs such as cocaine and heroin. They can also be trained in the detection of aromatic compounds in the cannabis or the so-called terpenes. It means that full-spectrum CBD oil containing myrcene and other terpenes can catch the eye of sniffer dogs. In such a case, producing your labelled CBD oil and showing it to customs officials for close examination could save the day.

Should you travel with CBD oil, to and from the U.K.?

Until this has been simplified and recognized to travel with CBD products in most countries, passengers will still be subject to unnecessary surveillance when crossing national and international borders. So, it would help if you avoid crossing borders with CBD oil and other CBD products.

Travelling with CBD oil from the U.K. should be fine in Europe, as long as CBD oil is also legal in your destination. You can also travel with CBD oil in the U.K., but this must meet the threshold for legal CBD oil in the U.K.

Make sure your CBD oil is from a reputable dealer such as the CBD oil and CBD flowers on Justbob.shop, and that the amount of THC in the product is clearly stated – not detected.

Unlabeled CBD oil can be confiscated at the border, as can CBD oil from unknown and properly-recognized dealers. Also, make sure that the bottle of CBD oil is sealed to prove that nothing illegal has been added.
